Mat moves from High Society to Beauty

Despite finishing High Society in August 2007, Mat Heighway will be on the road again after just a week! He is taking over as double bassist with the UK national tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The show runs until January 2008, visiting (among other places) Bournemouth, Plymouth, Belfast, Birmingham, Liverpool, Dartford, Grimsby, Athens (on a UK tour!) and Leicester.

Despite all this travelling, Mat will be maintaining a full schedule of playing with Mojo Bones and teaching.

Mat joins High Society!

At the end of January 2007, Mat Heighway of The Meticulous Organisation will be on the road again! He has just been appointed double bassist on the UK national tour of the West End production of High Society. The show stars Wayne Sleep and runs for 6 months, visiting (among other places) Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, Southampton, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Woking, Northampton, Cardiff, Sheffield, Richmond, Wolverhampton, Bromley, Ipswich, Brighton, High Wycombe, Tunbridge Wells, Cheltenham, Sunderland, Plymouth and Perth.

Despite all this travelling, The Meticulous Organisation will remain fully open for business, and Mat's teaching will hopefully not be affected too much (though Mat will now have to do all his teaching on Sundays! Find out more here...)

Fame at last, on the BBC

On Tuesday 26th September 2006, Mat Heighway appeared on BBC Radio Oxford (95.2 FM and online at bbb.co.uk), on the Danny Cox show. He was representing Mojo Bones, the blues band he plays with. Wedding Bells!

On 20th August 2006, Mat Heighway and Emily Eastmond got married at Friars Court in Oxfordshire. It was a lovely day, attended by lots of friends and family. You can view and buy photos from the day online at www.grangephotographic.com, using the Gallery ID 'mat' and the password 'emily'. There will also soon be added photo galleries here at Meticulous, in our wedding mini-site. Do have a look.

For those who want to know, Emily is keeping her name, and will now be known as Ms Emily Eastmond.

Mojo Bones

The blues band Mat plays with, Mojo Bones, has just released its first album! 'Call me on the Phone Sometime' is available at gigs for just £10, and will soon be available to buy online at the band's new website, www.mojobones.co.uk. The site's still under construction at the moment, but it'll be up-and-running in a couple of weeks, so drop in there and see what's what. There will be news, gig info, downloads, photos, booking info, bandmember info, contact details, newsletter subscriptions and all sorts of other goodies! Every blues fan's dream...

On a more personal note, there's big news about Mat's life, as he and Emily Eastmond are getting married on August 20th 2006 at Friars Court in Oxfordshire. Website

The big news, of course, is this brand-new website and all the new things on it. Not only has the Meticulous site got a new home, but as you can see it's had a complete rewrite and now has lots of useful features that weren't possible when the original site was built. The navigation menu to the left, the use of CGI scripts, more advanced JavaScript and CSS are all new, as are lots of other 'tweaks' too numerous to mention.
