This car has been my main car and also my workhorse for the last 4 years and has not had one mechanical breakdown in all that time. The engine is a beauty (200,000 miles is nothing for an Audi) and runs smoothly and reliably. This car is a great runner and won't let you down. It's extremely comfortable and smooth and when driven economically it'll do 600-700 miles on an 80-litre tank (somewhere around 35mpg).

Of course, the vehicle is not perfect. It has a number of very small scratches and bumps both outside and in, although the interior trim is basically sound and tidy, and the bodywork is, as far as I know, rust-free. The compressor on the air-conditioning doesn't work at all, and the system is probably drained by now. This is repairable, but at around £1,000 I simply haven't bothered - the windows and sunroof work and the heater and fan work too, so you're never uncomfortable. At the moment, the rear window demister doesn't work - it blows its fuse, which implies an electrical short somewhere. This, again, is fairly easy to fix - I just haven't got round to it and don't want to pay someone else to do it. The reversing light switch in the gearbox is faulty so the reversing light sometimes doesn't come on, or comes on then goes off. This is very expensive to repair, so I haven't bothered. It's not an MOT failure or an offence - just mildly irritating. The interior reading lights work, but sometimes you have to hit them first, (like the Millennium Falcon!) although the main courtesy lights are fine. It's also worth checking the oil and water from time to time, as they both go down over a few thousand miles. This is quite normal.

The only reason I'm selling this car is that I found a slightly newer one with a bigger engine! Other than the lack of aircon and the rear window demister, there's nothing really wrong with it. There is currently no tape or CD player in the vehicle, as I moved my CD player to the replacement vehicle, but I have both a spare tape player and a spare CD player, both of which work, and I can assure you that the car's speakers are just fine. I'd be happy to fit the tape player or CD player if you wanted one.
